TOURNAMENT RESULTS

Top Bass Tournament Trail held its sixth tournament of the 2022 season July 23rd on Houghton Lake. This tournament was named “The Frank’s Great Outdoors Challenge 2”. This was a normal one day tournament, with an optional twist. For those who also wanted to participate in the 2 lake Frank’s Challenge, they paid an extra $30 and then their Missaukee and Houghton weights were added together to see who won the 2 lake Challenge & payout. A special THANK YOU to Frank’s for their sponsorship of the 2 Challenge tournaments.

The weather was pretty good as we had temps in the 80’s and a little above normal winds. The fishing was also pretty good, as we had 29 limits come to the scales, and 191 bass in total got weighed in.

Congratulations to J P, from Houghton Lake, who held about a ½ pound lead over the Second place finisher, by weighing in a quality bag at 16.30#. He also had Big Bass for the tournament at 4.82#. Following in Second, was Bob Wingate, from Lake. Bob had a limit at 15.83#. John Franko, from Clare, was not far back, as his limit hit the 14.42# mark, to secure Third Place. Fourth Place went to Keith Gyulveszi, from Clare, with 13.16#. Paul Affholder, from Traverse City, rounded out the top 5 places, by weighing in 12.95# for 5th Place.

As for the Frank’s 2 Lake Challenge, J P, from Houghton Lake was able to take his 16.30# from Houghton Lake and add it to his 11.39# from Missaukee to win the 2 Lake Challenge, by a little over 1.3#, over Mark Reinke from Gladwin.
