TOURNAMENT RESULTS

Shoe’s Top Bass Tournament Trail held its 8th and final one day tournament of the 2025 season on Houghton Lake on August 16th.This tournament was named “The Jay’s Sporting Goods Open”, after one of our Great Sponsors.

The weather for this tournament started under partly cloudy skies with light winds and temps in the 70’s. The fishing was good, as we had some nice sized bass come to the scales.

Congratulations to John Franko, from Clare, who won his second tournament of the season, with a quality limit of 18.74#. John’s limit was anchored by the Big Bass for the tournament at 5.13#. Second Place went to Clint Joyner, from Metamora with 18.09#. Shawn Vernatter, from Attica, held down Third Place with 17.74#. Fourth Place went to Mike Sielinski, from Gladwin, with 16.65#. Bob Wingate, from Lake, was just behind Sielinski, with 16.36#. We only had 1 bass die and not make it back into the lake. Good Job to all!

The final tournament for 2025, will be the 2 Day Championship on the Saginaw River/limited bay, held on September 6-7 out of the Independence Bridge by the USS Edison Battleship.

To qualify – you MUST have paid for at least 2 tournaments to fish this event. REMEMBER the entry for the 2 days is $140 with day 1 weigh in at 3:00pm - day 2 weigh in at 2:00pm. . If you would like to fish, and only have one tournament, call Elmer Daniels, and see what he can do to get you included.
