SHOE’S TOP BASS
TOURNAMENT TRAIL
The D & R Sport Center Open
June 1st, 2024 on Saginaw River/Limited Bay
TOURNAMENT RESULTS
Shoe’sTop Bass Tournament Trail, held its second tournament of the season, on the Saginaw River/Limited Bay. The tournament went out of the Independence Bridge Launch, on Saturday, June 1st. The event was named, “The D & R Sport Center Open”, after one of our very great sponsors.
The weather for the tournament started off a little cool, with light winds. The temp worked its way up to the middle 70’s, with winds up to 10-15mph at weigh-in. The fishing again was great, as we had 39 limits come to the scales, but not many 4+ pounders.
Congratulations to Jamie Sochocki, from Bridgeport, who’s 1st Place, 5 fish limit turned the scales at 19.50#, and included Big Bass for the tournament at 4.61#. This was Jamie’s second straight win. Second Place went to Daniel Houser, from Washington Twp. With 16.28#. Brian Anderson from Linwood took 3rd Place with a limit at 15.10#. Fourth Place went to Elmer Daniels, from Jackson, with 14.62#. Andy Maier, from Midland held down 5th Place with 14.10#.
Keith Gyulveszi, from Clare was the lucky winner (random drawing), for the Denali rod/reel combo ($400 value), which had a special label on it that read “The Tom Shoemaker Sr. Edition”. This was in memory of Tom Shoemaker Sr., who passed, last November. It was donated by Bob Wozniak, in Tom Sr’s memory.
A Special “Thank You”, to D & R Sport Center, for being the title sponsor of this event. If you have not been to D & R, you should make the trip, as they have everything for fishing. If you see Randy VanDam, say “Hi”, and tell him you fish Top Bass!
