TOP BASS
TOURNAMENT TRAIL
July 25th, 2026 on Houghton Lake
TOURNAMENT RESULTS
Top Bass Tournament Trail held their 6th tournament of the season on Houghton Lake, out of the West DNR Ramp. The event was named “The EGO Fishing & Yamaha Outboards Open” after two of our very good sponsors.
The weather for the tournament was nice, for a change, on Houghton Lake, with normal winds, sunny skies, and temps reaching 80.
The fishing was very tough, with only 16 limits coming to the scales. Many of the anglers did not even weigh their 1-4 fish, and put them back into the lake, as when taking their boats out, the parking was very congested, and they just headed back home.
Congratulations to John Franko, from Clare, who won this tournament with a very nice limit that hit the scales at 17.25#. Second Place went to Bret Holling, from Prudenville, with a quality limit at 16.50#. Third Place went to Jamie Sochocki, from Bridgeport, with another nice limit at 16.32#. Michael Sielinski, from Gladwin, held on to take Fourth Place with a limit at 14.79#. Big Bass for the tournament went to our own Tom Shoemaker, from Pinconning with a nice 5.09# smallmouth. Great job to all, as we had a 100% live release of all the fish weighed in.
A Special “Thank You”, to EGO Fishing & Yamaha Outboards, for being the title sponsors of this event.
Thanks to all those who help take down the tournament site, after the tournament. We VERY MUCH appreciate your help. Thanks Again!!
