TOP BASS
TOURNAMENT TRAIL
May 30th, 2026 on Saginaw River/Bay
Top Bass Tournament Trail, held its second tournament of their 30th season, on the Saginaw River/Bay. The tournament went out of the Independence Bridge Launch, on Saturday, May 30th, 2026 The event was named, “The D & R Sport Center Open”, after one of our very great sponsors.
The weather for the tournament was again very windy, as the wind blew 15-32 mph out of the NE. It was chilly, with temps in the 40’s to start, and warmed up a little in the afternoon
There were 24 limits come to the scales, but no bass over 3 & 3/4 lbs.
The new Pro Tournament Scales worked out great, and everyone enjoyed seeing the weights on the big viewing screen. Thanks again to Keith Gyulveszi for all his work in getting donations for the system.
Congratulations to Billy Booth, from Midland, who won this event, with a nice limit at 16.51#. Billy also had Big Bass for the tournament at 3.74#. Second Place went to Peter Jones, from Midland with a limit at 14.48#. Mark Reinke, from Gladwin, held down Third Place with 14.32#. Fourth Place went to Michael Sielinski, from Gladwin, with 13.99#. Fifth Place went to Kevin Vida, from Clare, with a limit at 13.44#
A Special “Thank You”, to D & R Sport Center, for being the title sponsor of this event. If you are looking for a new boat, fishing or hunting equipment, make sure you check them out. You won’t be disappointed!
