TOURNAMENT RESULTS
Top Bass Tournament Trail held its 8th tournament of the 2026 season, on Lake St Helen in St Helen, MI on August 22nd, 2026.
This tournament was named “The Dick’s Sporting Goods Open” after one of our great sponsors. Dick’s Sporting Goods has been one of our very loyal sponsors for many years. So whenever you have any sporting goods needs, check them out first, you won’t be sorry that you did.
The weather for the tournament was sort of a mixed bag, as we had very cloudy at times, a VERY heavy rain storm in the middle, and some sun toward the end. Temps were in the low 70’s at the end, with about normal winds.
The fishing was fair, given the weather. We had only 27 limits, with all but 9 limits, being under 10 pounds. Lots of 1-2 pound fish, came to the scales, but we did have 3 that was over 4 pounds, and one of those just under 6 pounds. We had a 100% live release, so great job to all the anglers.
Congratulations to Andy Maier, from Midland, who took home top prize with a winning limit of 13.34#. Andy’s limit had a hog in it that took Big Bass for the tournament, and weighed 5.60#. Second Place went to Todd Hamilton, from Lewiston, with a limit at 13.23#, which had a nice 4.41# in it. Third Place was held down by one of our young stars, Roco Rosa, from Saginaw. He is new to tournament bass fishing, and netted a limit of 13.10# to cash for the first time and also take home a nice trophy. Congratulations Roco! Bob Wozniak, from Pinconning, took home Fourth Place with 13.02#, which was anchored by a quality 4.42# largemouth. Bringing up the rear in the last pay spot for Fifth Place was Elmer Daniels, from Jackson with 11.58#. Big Bass went to Andy Maier, from Midland with 5.60#.
A special Thank You to Dick’s Sporting Goods, for being the title sponsor of this event.
