TOURNAMENT RESULTS
Shoe’sTop Bass Tournament Trail held its 4th tournament of the 2024 season June 29th on Houghton Lake.
This tournament was named “The Frank’s Great Outdoors – Challenge – 1”, after one of our great sponsors. This was a normal one day event, with an added optional 2 lake Challenge event. For those who entered the Challenge (for an additional $30), this was the 1st Lake in the optional Challenge event with the second being July 13th on Missaukee Lake at the Missaukee Co. Park Launch
The weather for the tournament was not the best, as it was cloudy and looked like rain, but only misted a couple times. The winds did blow at over 10mph and gusted to over 25mph. The temp was in the 60’s at start.
The fishing was rather tough, as we only had 25 limits come to the scales. We did have 5 over 4#, and 26 others over 3# come to the weigh-in.
Congratulations to Michael Sielinski, from Gladwin, who won this event with a nice limit that turned the scale for 17.06#. Just behind in Second Place, was Nathan Troyanek, from New Boston with a limit at 16.97#, which was anchored by Big Bass for the tournament at 4.75#. Third Place went to Bob Wingate from Lake, with 16.84#. Brian Anderson held down Fourth Place, with 16.31#. Close behind Brian, was Jeff Crowley, from Goodrich, in Fifth Place with 16.28#. This was one of the closest finishes that Top Bass has ever had, with the top 5 anglers only about ¾ of a pound apart. Great Job!
