TOP BASS
TOURNAMENT TRAIL
Jay's Sporting Goods Open
August 8th, 2026 on Missaukee Lake
TOURNAMENT RESULTS
Top Bass Tournament Trail, held their 7th tournament of the season, on Missaukee Lake, out of the Missaukee County Parks Ramp. The event was named “The Jay’s Sporting Goods Open”, after one of our very good sponsors.
The weather for the tournament was a little tough, as it was partly sunny and humid, with above average winds, with high wind gusts, and temps reaching in the 80’s. The fishing was OK, with only 24 limits coming to the scales. A good number of the bass were just the 14” legal size, and under 2 pounds, so there were many 10 pound and under limits hit the scales.
Congratulations to John Franko, from Clare, who took home the win with a very nice limit that hit the scales at 17.48#. His limit was anchored with Big Bass for the tournament, a quality 4.46# largemouth. Second Place went to Ron Conner, from Oxford, with a limit of 12.72#. Third Place went to Cal Tomlinson, from Midland, with 12.40#. Randy Yochum, from Alpena, held on to take Fourth Place with a limit at 11.93#.
A Special “Thank You”, to Jay’s Sporting Goods, for being the title sponsors of this event.
Thanks to all those who help take down the tournament site, after the tournament. We VERY MUCH appreciate your help. Thanks Again!!
From L to R: John Franko, Ron Conners and Cal Tomlinson
