TOURNAMENT RESULTS

Shoe’sTop Bass Tournament Trail held its 3rd tournament of the 2023 season, on Lake St. Helen.

This tournament was named “The Frank’s Great Outdoors – Challenge – 1”.  This was a normal one day event, with an added optional 2 lake Challenge event.  For those who  entered the Challenge, this was the 1st Lake in the optional Challenge event.  Our next normal one day event, will be June 24, on Houghton Lake, and is also the 2nd lake of the 2 lake Challenge, for those who entered the optional Challenge event.

The weather for the tournament was nice, as it was cool at take off, but warmed up quickly, with a high around 80 by weigh-in, with light winds.  Lots of fish came to the scales, as 37 of our 46 anglers had a 5 fish limit.  Not many big fish, as only 4 fish over 3# weighed in.  A total of 203 fish came to the scales.

Congratulations to Tom Shoemaker Jr. from Pinconning who won the event with a limit of 13.92#.  Tom’s limit was anchored by Big Bass for the tournament at 3.29#.  Second Place went to Jim Baker, from Bay City with 13.59#.  He was followed by Justin Dankert, from Saginaw with 11.93#.  4th Place was held by John Franko, from Clare, with 11.83#
