SHOE'S TOP BASS

TOURNAMENT TRAIL

The Mercury Marine Open

May 27th, 2023 on Saginaw River/Bay

 TOURNAMENT RESULTS

Shoe’sTop Bass Tournament Trail opened up their 27th season with a tournament on the Saginaw River/Limited Bay, out of the Independence Bridge Launch, on Saturday, May 27th.   The event was named, “The Mercury Marine Open”, after one of our very good sponsors.

The weather for the tournament was some of the nicest that we have ever had for opening day.  The temp was in the 80’s, with very light winds.  With such great weather, we had a good turnout.  With all those who fished, we only had 3 anglers to not weigh-in, and 38 - 5 fish limits came to the scales. A total of 231 bass came to the scales with 100% live release.   Good job to all who fished!

Congratulations to Billy Booth, from Midland, who won the event with a limit @ 19.96#.  2nd Place, went to Keith Gyulveszi, from Clare, with 17.64#, and he also took the RecLending Big Bass Award, with one @ 5.14#.  Third Place went to Peter Jones, from Midland with 17.11#.  Elmer Daniels, from Jackson, took 4th Place with 16.29#.  Dan Houser, from Washington Twp, followed  in 5th, with 16.13#

Special “Thank You” to Mercury Marine, for being the titled sponsor of this tournament.
