TOURNAMENT RESULTS
Shoe’s Top Bass Tournament Trail, held their 5th tournament of the 2025 season, on Lake St. Helen. The tournament went out of the St. Helen ramp (Old DNR ramp)
This event was named “The Frank’s Great Outdoors Challenge 2”, after one of our great sponsors. This was a normal one day tournament, but there was an optional 2 Lake Challenge, which would use the weights from this tournament and the one back on Houghton Lake, on June 28, to determine the winners.
The weather for the tournament started off cloudy, cool, and 10mph winds. The wind built up as the day went on, and was gusting over 20mph.
The fishing was good, as we had 37 limits come to the scales. We had 4 bass that died, and which made only five fish that have died in our first 5 tournaments.
Congratulations to Kyle Bigelow, from Gladwin, who had the First Place limit at 14.89#. Second Place went to Elmer Daniels, from Jackson with 14.68#, which was anchored by Big Bass for the tournament a 4.41# largemouth. Mike Parsons, from Clare held down Third Place with 14.34#. Fourth Place went to Ron Conner, from Oxford with 13.82#. Billy Booth took Fifth Place with 13.63#.
A special “Thank You” to Frank’s Great Outdoors, for being the titled sponsor for this event and also the sponsor of the 2 Lake Challenge, which this was the second lake.
From L to R: John Franko, Elmer Daniels, Kyle Bigelow and Mike Parsons
